Exporting Kilil to America
By Yilma Bekele
Being an Ethiopian has always been difficult. The bad news is, it is not going to get any easier. Two weeks ago I found out it can be taken away too. It has come to a point where names and looks plus attitude can determine who is and who is not an Ethiopian. Welcome to Kilil in America.

ETHIOPIAN PRISONERS SUFFERING IN EGYPTIAN JAILS
The horrible plight of Ethiopians in Libya has now become public but equally bad is their situation in Egypt. Refugees trying to make their way into Israel (which grants asylum to Eritreans but not to Ethiopians) have been shot dead or wounded by Egyptian police.

CONDEMN THE BRUTAL EXTORTION OF THE ETHIOPIAN PEOPLE
It is outright extortion and daylight robbery and fleecing. The brutal Meles Zenawi regime has used the building of the so called Millennium Dam on the Nile as a cover to bleed the people of Ethiopia for more cash at the very time they had to endure a 25% inflation and price rise on food prices.

IN THIS MAD MAD WORLD: IS KADAFI JEWISH?
By Hama Tuma
The Western machine of demonization and disinformation is huge, very, very huge. The absolute control of the media and its unhealthy impact on the world has been documented by the likes of Chomsky and Michael Moore and I have little to add to all that.

STOP THE REPRESSION IN DJIBOUTI
The president of Djibouti, Omar Gelleh, has changed the Constitution to be able to run for a third term election on April 8 and, in the process, has intensified the repression unleashed against the people. Jean Paul Noel Abdi, chairman of the Djibouti Human Rights Association, is charged and in prison while dozen others are being tortured for staging protest demonstrations.
Meles and our BEKA! moment.

IS DISRESPECT FUNNY?
Hama Tuma
The situation in other continents may be different but I know for certain that dictators in
Africa disrespect the people. The very fact of their tyranny is contempt towards the people but to add, as the saying goes, a crossed eye over goiter the dictators also go out of their way to treat us as dim-witted and dense.

OF WESTERN HYPOCRISY, OBDURATE TYRANTS AND CHANGING TIMES
By Hama Tuma
As the Bob Dylan song put it the times they are “ achanging”. But, try to tell that to the tyrant and dictators of the world and to the Western powers who are bonded to their hypocrisy, double standards and greed.
